Over The Rainbow - “God Can Change You!” - Luca Grappoli, pt 2

February 8th, 2019

Wow, what a series this is! There is a battle in our culture over "conversion therapy" and whether gays or lesbians or gender confused people can actually change their thinking and feelings to match their biologically-determined gender. The loudest voices say, "NO!" But all it takes is one person who has "been there" to testify to God's awesome transforming power to bring down the "NO!" argument. And there are increasing numbers of former LGBT people speaking out about how God has changed them. Are there struggles? Don't we all struggle with thoughts, feelings, and life issues? The Good News is God forgives, cleanses, heals and changes ALL who will come to Him and He will help them line up with His design for them! Check out Luca's interview!

Over The Rainbow - “God Can Change You!” - Luca Grappoli, pt 1

February 3rd, 2019

There is hope for us all! God can change what people say CAN'T be changed. God can control what people say CAN'T be controlled. God wins! For decades we have heard LGBT(etc.) advocates proclaim as the unchangeable nature of homosexuality so we just better tolerate it, accept it, embrace it, and celebrate it! Wrong! Their "unchangeable" argument doesn't hold water as long as there are people transformed by the power of God in Jesus! Take a listen to Luca Groppoli's testimony. This two-part series is powerful! And if you are struggling with homosexuality, may the Lord's power give you the transformed life you've been praying for. Oh...and let the Truth Barista know how these episodes have affected you. (You can find Luca Jo Groppoli on Facebook.)

What is this Baptism Thing?

July 23rd, 2018

Why do Christian churches drip or dunk people with water? Is this something Jesus invented for His church? After all, He commanded it to be done. Churches have fought over whether it should be done for all ages or whether it can be done once or more, or dipping/dribbling/or dunking, or by anyone or just the "clergy." The Truth Barista gets to the background of baptism - FROM BEFORE JESUS(!) - and reveals what it means and how it was always done. You'll find this FASCINATING!!

When Is It God’s Call Or Just Narcissism? (pt 2)

June 29th, 2018

So, if you've listened to the previous episode "When Is It God's Call Or Just Narcissism? (pt 1)" how are your toes? If they weren't stepped on, that's a good sign. It means you're on the right track. YES! God has something for everybody to do in this life. Read the Bible and we find that it's Love God, Love People. We can add Live Right, Reveal the Light (Jesus). It's that simple. BUT sometimes our desire for greater significance takes us to places and pursuits God has no desire for us to grasp for. If propelled by narcissism, we can easily mistake our yearning for "personal greatness" as a "call of God." Dangerous territory, my friend. Take a listen to part 2 of this fascinating topic!

When Is It God’s Call Or Just Narcissism? (pt 1)

June 22nd, 2018

One of the BIGGEST drives in people's lives is the desire for significance. No one wants to feel insignificant. To some degree, we all want to believe we're making some sort of impact in life. But this desire is greatly amplified and twisted when coupled with narcissism. Here's your definition of NARCISSISM (American Heritage Dictionary): "A personality disorder characterized by an exaggerated sense of self-importance, need for admiration, and lack of empathy."

This is a dangerous combination in the fellowship of Jesus' followers (the church). Many "Seek God's call on their lives." Rightly so, because He has called us to a life with Him and service to others. But the search for significance often DRIVES some Christians to distraction to find out what that specific call is. Even worse, when narcissism is added to the mix, this intensified drive turns its focus from God to the person. And now we have a real problem. Take a listen and really think - is my desire for ministry out of love for Jesus or self-centered narcissism?

Obey God or Man? (pt 3) Civil Disobedience

June 2nd, 2018

Here's a topic you won't hear from most pulpits today. When the choice is between obeying God or man, our choice is clear. So what do we do if obeying God brings us into conflict with civil law? While there are many options, civil disobedience may be our only option. The Bible has clear guidance on how to exercise civil disobedience in a loving and civil way. Just be prepared for the consequences...and trust God all the way!

Obey God or Man? (pt 2)

May 25th, 2018

Jesus promised His disciples they would experience persecution. Why? Because humanity's kingdoms instinctively clash with God's kingdom. It's a battle of wills. Whose will be done? Most of the time this world's kingdoms have no problems with Christians. But there come times when the world demands Christians follow man's demands and not God's commands. Even within the Church world the demands of man collide with God's will and individual Christians or groups of Christians face a choice - Obey God or Man? This is not an easy choice, but it is a no-brainer for a Christian. Peter and John and the early disciples showed us how it's to be done. Check out this episode of the Truth Barista. It just might prepare you for times that are a-comin'!
